AWARD WINNING RADIO DJ/PRESENTER - DEOBA AUTHENTIC

INTIMATE THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT CELEBRITY MULTI-AWARDS WINNER DJ/RADIO PRESENTER - DEOBA AUTHENTIC

Tell us about yourself & your company?
My name is Mr Adeoba Adeshina but I am better known as Deoba Authentic. I am a Proud Nigerian Yoruba Ekiti. I was born in the United Kingdom but spent all my childhood years from the age of 3 years old to adolescence in Ibadan Nigeria and attended Ebire Nursery/Primary School and Methodist High School. Thereafter, I came to the United Kingdom to continue my studies. I studied Sports Science at the University of East London.
Music and Entertainment were my passion long before it became my profession. I am the founder of Royal Entertainment and I am an Artiste/Radio Presenter/Event DJ and I also provide Media Support Services to Event Organisers, Artistes, and Corporate Businesses.

What services do you offer and where would you say your company is at the moment?
The position my company is in at this present time is very good and my existing and potential clients including my colleagues in the business have a clear understanding of the brand Deoba Authentic and services the brand offers.
2. How would you say the entertainment industry has grown within the afro-Caribbean in Britain. What would you attribute this to?
I think the entertainment industry has grown steadily and slowly within the Afro-Caribbean community in Britain for a number of reasons although now the factors that stunted its growth are no longer valid factors. Media is a major reason for the upward movement of any type of industry and in Britain Afro-Caribbeans are classed as a minority ethnic body of people. We all know the business is a numbers game and the majority carry the vote. As long as you are told you a minority consideration you will even down grade yourself no matter your quality. As long as you are not given centre stage you do not exist. So to be considered as centre stage material you will dumb down you authentic and original self to fit in the considered big picture. I saw a lot of that in the 90s here in the United Kingdom when I decided to adopt the word AUTHENTIC next to my Name DEOBA (Lati ranti ibi ti mo tiwa ati omo eni ti mo nse) to remember where I am from and whose son I am.
I think all the community leaders failed to unite the people which helps to instil confidence and strength. The emergence of information technology through the internet and devices such as computers and smartphones has now given us Africans the chance to distribute the awareness of our art, culture and what we have to offer the world. The world is now making their choice from this new gate way that is not controlled by any group of individuals or company. The chances are now endless.
What advise would you give to young people venturing into the entertainment industry?
As I always say "The way we reason is determined by what we are exposed to and our understanding of self and other things" and "Always reach for higher heights without fear of falling." If you feel it, try it. Always believe in yourself regardless of what others believe about you.
Be serious about getting an education and major in areas of your interests because you can always transfer the knowledge to empower your area of interest in the entertainment industry you are passionate in or talented in. This will help you to develop and propel you into a professional position in that particular area of entertainment.
I know that you have released your single album, how did you find the experience?
Lagbotiwa is the single I am pushing now although if you go to my website www.deobaauthentic.com you will see old and new songs there too. The experience with Lagbotiwa is very enjoyable and elevating. I love performing it and I love the reception of the song from people. My passion is seeing people enjoying themselves. That is why I so appreciate my Best UK Afro Beats Act, BEFFTA & GAB Awards nomination 2013.
What does the future hold for you and your company
I look forward to working with more people in the industry, I believe working together is very positive and society developing. I am very grateful for winning NUBAA Best Radio Presenter of the year as I believe charity begins at home. I am also very grateful that my work is being recognised by the community and I will carry on doing my best for my community and the world I live in, giving the best I have from within.

Can I also say congratulations on your nomination as BEFFTA DJ of the Year and Radio Personality of the Year and Gathering of African Best (GAB) Awards coming up this weekend.

12 Years Old African Tennis Player Rises to Int'l Level

The world of tennis has been blessed with a new generation of young players - confident, committed, personality - driven with hopes of leaving their mark on the lawn tennis tournament at Wimbledon London, one of the four Grand Slam championships.

In 2010 Michael was lucky to have escorted his favorite player and eventual winner, Roger Federer onto court for the match against Andy Murray.

Only a couple of years ago Michael Mhangami was just a kid playing tennis just to keep busy. Now, at the age of 12, he’s the winner of 9&U and 10&U Aegon Winter Masters Nationals, Clay Court National Championships, Aegon British National Invitational (2 years in a row), Multi Grand Prix winner, LTA Surrey Champion and Porsche Nottingham Open Winner twice in a row. LTA funded and identified talented player and above all, the British Number 1 in 2010 and 2011.

This year he is set to compete at one of the biggest tournaments, Orange Bowl, Florida USA.

He started playing tennis at the age of three and it he has never looked back since then. He has competed in several tournaments, local, national and international. This has gained him awards, several medals and trophies.

In 2010 Michael won three national level titles as well as winning the Surrey County event. He is part of the Aegon Future Stars program to nurture talented young tennis players.

Last year Michael was awarded with a very special award, African Achievers Awards (AAA) as the Youngest Achiever.

Michael's dreams are too big for the earnings of his working class parents. Tennis, unlike any other game out there, is expensive and caters for a limited and very active membership. Michael travels around the world for tournaments and the more he plays tennis, the more expenses are, for his parents.

As a society we cannot afford to fold our hands when there is such talent in our youngsters; A date has been set for a fund raiser that has drawn the attention of tennis legends like Andy Murray & Roger Federer who are expected to take part in this inspiring story of Michael Mhangami.

SUPPORT THE YOUNG & TALENTED - FUND RAISER , MICHAEL MHANGAMI

18th October 2013 6pm-10pm: Norton Rose, Fulbright LLP 3, London Riverside SE1 2RE London

Advance tickets and donations can be accessed online @http://michaelmhangami.com/blog.html. Tickets will cost £20 in advance and more on the day.

Supporting the Young & Talented fund raiser will be a night full of entertainment and a celebration of the success story of Michael. And to spice it up there will be Celebs like Rudolph Walker (Patrick) of BBC East Enders rubbing shoulders with guests.

Around 150 guests including sports agents, celebrities and sports stars are expected to attend.

The former Minister of Olympics, Tessa Jowell will be one of the speakers on the day.

There will also be live performances by talented singers as well as a Dinner Dance. Glorianne Francis, an inspirational speaker, philanthropist, presenter and host to International events will be presenting this event.

Brands, companies and organisations are invited to become sponsors and benefit from networking opportunities the event has to offer.

Much thanks to Norton Rose Law Firm in London, who are sponsoring and providing the venue for this unique event. With this kind of support Michael's future in tennis looks bright. To you, the generous people out there, please show your support by attending the event or, donate via the provided link.
